"Sampling Inspection"

“Sampling Inspection” is a one act play about the (surprisingly dramatic) business of quality control. It was written by Bonnie Small, a statistical quality control consultant for Western Electric, and first presented in September of 1953 for the Allentown-Bethlehem Section of the American Society for Quality Control.

As Small writes:

The Consolidated Equipment Corporation is an entirely fictitious organization. There is no similarity whatsoever between the things that happen at Consolidated and anything that happens, for example, in your own plant. Furthermore, if you think you notice any similarity between your own inspection practices and those at Consolidated, all we can say is, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
